Who We Are
Kiddie junction is an alternative to center based care offering small group sizes with maximum of 4 children under the age of 6 and not more that 2 children under the age of 2.
Small groups enable children to build responsive and reciprocal relationships, which is particularly beneficial under two.
Individual educational programs are developed for your child once a term, following te whariki , the NZ early childhood curriculum.
Portfolio books provide a record of your child’s learning and development which are retained by parents when children leave the service,.
Children have opportunity to experience everyday life situations such as cooking, going for walks , visiting parks, cycling, attending music, doing arts etc. which provide learning experience for children .Educators also provide activities including books, paint, collage, puzzles, play dough , water and sand , each of these activities further enhance your child’s learning and development.
Home-based care enables your child’s routine to be continued in the educator’s home. Educators provide an environment where your child is valued and their needs recognized enabling them to become competent, confident leaders.
Our educators will be 17 years and above with no previous criminal offense.
Co-coordinators who are trained registered ECE qualified visit your child once a month completing a written learning record in regular basis, which goes into child’s portfolio book. There will be one coordinator for 50 children’s.
Co-coordinators organize fortnightly playgroups providing children the opportunity to interact with their peers in larger group of settings.
We endeavor to meet your required childcare hours and with a variety of home based educators flexibility of hours can be considered.
Fees & Subsidy
Childcare rates:
Childcare rates are negotiated directly with the educator. The childcare rates vary depending on the experience and qualifications of the educator and your requirements.
Normal childcare rates:
In the educators’ home: $5 – $10 per hour, per child, our home educators are self-employed, therefore they are free to set their own rates
In the child’s home: $15.75 – $25 per hour
Subsidies:
To find out about the Kiddie Junction LTD Home Based childcare subsidy contact us to see how we can help. This can be up to 20hrs early childhood education for three and four year olds. $5/hr for up to 6hrs a day, 20hrs a week.
Work and Income (WINZ) Childcare Subsidy:
Work and Income also offer an income tested childcare subsidy for a maximum of 50 hours a week. Low income parents who are not working may still be entitled to a 9 hour childcare subsidy. All WINZ payments depend on the family income and other factors that need to be discussed with WINZ directly.
